Starts September 15

Every great company starts with the same question: "What if?"

Most people never find out.

The What If Challenge

Six weeks to take you from "what if?" to a clear hell yes or hell no on your idea. No quitting your job. No fundraising. Free to join.

Led by Maria Chilikov, supported by founders and operators on a mission to open entrepreneurship to more people.

§ 02 · A new age of entrepreneurship

Building a company has changed. Who gets to try should too.

For decades, a real shot at turning an idea into a business usually required a team, money and months of runway. That shaped who got to build, and which ideas ever got a chance.

That is changing fast. One person can now research, test and build in ways that once required a funded team. AI is part of the shift, but the bigger story is what it opens up: founders of different ages, backgrounds and circumstances building businesses of different shapes, from the small company that creates real value to the next giant.

A world where more people get to build is more inclusive, more diverse and, frankly, more interesting. This is a step towards it.

I'm Maria Chilikov. In over a decade in tech, I've bootstrapped my own company, led product through growth and exit, the latest as CPO at Beauty Pie, and advised tech CEOs and the investors backing them. That work became CPO Method, my advisory practice, and the challenge runs on it: every framework, system and AI agent in the program comes from work with real companies, not theory. For six weeks I'll be testing a brand-new idea of my own, live, alongside everyone taking part.

§ 03 · How it works

The roadmap from idea to conviction

Over six weeks, you'll receive structured guidance, work through your idea, and find out whether it holds up as a business. You'll finish with a working first version you can continue building on and the skills to go from zero to one.

  1. 01
    Week 1 of 6

    Could this be a business?

Shape an initial view of how it could work, and find what needs testing first.

  2. 02
    Week 2 of 6

    Is the problem real?

Replace your assumptions about the customer with firsthand evidence.

  3. 03
    Week 3 of 6

    Does anyone want your solution?

Put the solution in front of real people before you invest in building it.

  4. 04
    Week 4 of 6

Can you reach customers, and will they pay?

Test whether interest extends beyond friendly conversations.

  5. 05
    Week 5 of 6

What is the smallest thing worth building?

Turn what you've learned into something real enough to test and improve.

  6. 06
    Week 6 of 6

    Should you build this business?

Bring the evidence together and decide to build, pivot or stop.

§ 04 · Who it's for

Open to anyone with an idea.

But there are some specific people I had in mind when creating it.

01

The female founder

Women-only founding teams still raise around 2% of venture funding. It was never for lack of ideas or ability: the all-in, all-at-once path simply wasn't designed around the rest of life. If you're carrying an idea, this is your invitation to build it on your own terms.

02

The seasoned operator

You've run big things, but never taken your own idea from zero to one. You're not sure where to start, or you worry what it would cost your reputation to try and have it not work.

03

The first-timer

You have the ideas, the ambition and the energy, but you're not quite sure what to do. What's missing isn't permission. It's a method, a map, and someone who's done it showing you how.
